Gratin Savoyarde
Creamy, Cheesy Potatoes
Serves 6
Preparation Time less than 30 minutes
Cooking Time 45 Minutes
Ingredients
1.5kg Waxy Potatoes
Small Onion
Garlic Clove
300gr Creme Fraiche
250gr Grated Cheddar Cheese
Can use a mix of Cheddar and Edam

Method
Peel the potatoes and cut into slices about 7mm thick
Boil the potatoes in salted water for 10 minutes, then drain
Dice the onion finely
Place a layer potatoes in a 3 litre baking dish
Sprinkle some of onion, crushed garlic and freshly ground pepper over the potato layer
Cover with a layer of Creme Fraiche and then a layer of Cheese
Repeat with more layers until all the potato is used
Cover with foil and Bake for 45 minutes in a per-heated oven 170c
Remove the foil for the last 20 minutes of cooking
