Festive pastry dippers or good on their own
A good way to use up pastry trimmings
Works well with Tapenade, Pesto or Anchovy paste

Flakey Pastry
Pesto (red or green) or Tapenade or Anchovy Paste
1 Egg
Grated Parmesan
Wooden Skewers

Cut the pastry into strips approximately 1cm x 30cm
Spread a thin layer of the Pesto or alternative on the Pastry
Fold the Pastry strips in the shape of the Xmas tree
Push a skewer into eack Xmas Tree to hold its shape
Brush with an egg wash and place on a baking tray lined with Parchment
Dust the top with Parmesan
Bake in a pre-heated oven (180°) for 15-20 minutes or until golden brown
Serve on their own or with your favorite dip
